From
₹24,900
Coorg at its most unhurried. Everything in the six-day plan, plus a completely open day to walk the estate, cycle, eat your way through Madikeri or add Talakaveri and Bhagamandala. Best suited to travellers who would rather stay put in one good property and let the valley come to them.
Trip at a glance
- Full plantation day with tasting
- Abbey Falls, fort and Raja's Seat
- Dubare and Nisargadhama on the Kaveri
- Mandalpatti 4x4 excursion
- A free day for estate walks and Kodava kitchens
Day by day
7 days, start to finish — travel, activities and where you sleep each night.
- 1
Day 1
Arrive in Coorg — settle into the hills
Transfer into Madikeri through the Western Ghats and check in to your estate stay or resort. The rest of the day is deliberately unstructured: sleep off the drive, walk the property, and let the mist come in over the coffee. Your trip coordinator runs through the plan for the coming days over evening tea. Overnight in Coorg.
- 2
Day 2
Madikeri sightseeing — falls, fort and Raja's Seat
After breakfast, drive out to Abbey Falls, where the Kaveri's tributaries drop through a wall of coffee and spice plantation. Continue to Madikeri Fort and the Omkareshwara Temple in town, then time Raja's Seat for late afternoon — the old Kodava kings' viewing terrace looks straight down the valley and is the best sunset in the district. Evening free in the local market for coffee, honey and homemade wine. Overnight in Coorg.
- 3
Day 3
Coffee plantation and spice garden day
A full morning inside a working plantation with a guided walk: the difference between arabica and robusta, shade-grown cultivation, harvest and processing, and the pepper, cardamom and vanilla that share the same land. Tasting session at the end. Afternoon at leisure at the property, with an optional bonfire in the evening. Overnight in Coorg.
- 4
Day 4
Dubare Elephant Camp and Nisargadhama
Drive to Dubare on the banks of the Kaveri, the forest department's elephant camp, where you can watch the morning routine of the herd (elephant interactions subject to forest department availability). Cross to Kaveri Nisargadhama in the afternoon — a bamboo and sandalwood island reached by a hanging bridge, with deer, quiet river banks and easy walking trails. Back to base by evening. Overnight in Coorg.
- 5
Day 5
Mandalpatti jeep excursion
The morning belongs to Mandalpatti. A local 4x4 takes over for the last rough stretch and climbs to a ridge at roughly 4,050 ft, where the Western Ghats roll out in every direction and cloud sits below the road. Allow time at the top — the light changes every few minutes. Return to Madikeri by afternoon; evening free for cafés and shopping. Overnight in Coorg.
- 6
Day 6
Slow day in Kodagu
No early start. Spend the morning at the property — nature walks through the estate, cycling, or simply the hammock. Later, head into town for the Kodava kitchens, the coffee roasteries and the small shops on Madikeri's main street, or add a short visit to Talakaveri or Bhagamandala. Evening free. Overnight in Coorg.
- 7
Day 7
Departure from Coorg
Breakfast and check-out. Depending on your train or flight time there's usually room for one more stop — a last coffee run, a viewpoint, or the local market for spices to take home. Your vehicle drops you at Mysore, Mangalore or Bangalore for your onward journey.

Good to know
When is the best time to visit Coorg?
October to March is the sweet spot — clear skies, cool mornings and green hills. June to September is full monsoon: the falls are at their most dramatic and rates are lowest, but expect rain most days and slippery trails.
Is the Mandalpatti jeep ride included?
The local 4x4 that takes over for the last rough stretch to Mandalpatti is included in your package. Forest entry tickets, where charged, are paid directly.
Will we definitely see elephants at Dubare?
You will see the camp and the river, but elephant interaction sessions are run by the forest department and are subject to daily availability, weather and river conditions. We never guarantee them.
Is this trip suitable for parents and young children?
Yes. It is an easy, vehicle-based itinerary with no trekking, short driving days and comfortable resorts — one of our most popular family formats.
How do we reach Coorg?
Nearest airports are Mangalore (approx. 3.5 hrs), Mysore (approx. 3 hrs) and Bangalore (approx. 5–6 hrs). Mysore is the nearest major railhead. Pickup from your chosen point is included.
