Detailed itinerary
Gokarna Beach Trail — 5N/6D
From
₹19,400
Everything in the five-day trail with an extra day that has nothing scheduled in it — the day most people say they needed. Swim, move between Om and Kudle, take optional kayaking or boating, and finish with cliff cafés and one more Arabian Sea sunset.
Trip at a glance
- Beach trail across Kudle, Om and Half Moon
- Yana Caves and Vibhooti Falls
- Murudeshwar excursion
- A full free day on the coast
- Cliff-top cafés and sunsets
Day by day
6 days, start to finish — travel, activities and where you sleep each night.
- 1
Day 1
Arrive in Gokarna — sunset at Kudle
Arrive into Gokarna and transfer to your hotel near the beach. Check in, rest through the hot part of the afternoon, then walk down to Kudle Beach for the evening. Kudle is the wide, easy one — shacks along the sand, cliffs at both ends, and a sunset straight into the Arabian Sea. Dinner at a beachside café. Overnight in Gokarna.
- 2
Day 2
Temple town and the Gokarna beach trail
Start at the Mahabaleshwar Temple with its Atmalinga, and Koti Tirtha tank behind it — Gokarna is a pilgrimage town first and a beach town second. Walk Gokarna Main Beach, then start the coastal trail: Kudle, over the headland to Om Beach with its two curving bays, and on towards Half Moon. The path is rocky in places, so wear grip. Sunset at Om Beach. Overnight in Gokarna.
- 3
Day 3
Yana Caves and Vibhooti Falls
Drive inland into the Sahyadris for Yana, where two enormous black karst monoliths — Bhairaveshwara Shikhara and Mohini Shikhara — rise out of dense forest, reached by a short, shaded trek on stone steps. Continue to Vibhooti Falls, a limestone cascade with pools you can wade into. Back at the coast by evening. Overnight in Gokarna.
- 4
Day 4
Murudeshwar excursion
A coastal drive south to Murudeshwar, where the world's second-tallest Shiva statue stands on a headland over the sea, with the twenty-storey gopura beside it and a lift to the top for the view. Time on Murudeshwar beach, and a look towards Netrani Island if the weather is clear. Return to Gokarna for a final beach evening. Overnight in Gokarna.
- 5
Day 5
A day for doing very little
A deliberately blank day. Sleep in, swim, and move between Om and Kudle as the sun does. Optional kayaking, boating or beach activities can be arranged locally, subject to sea conditions. Late afternoon for the cliff cafés and the shops on the temple street, then your last Arabian Sea sunset. Overnight in Gokarna.
- 6
Day 6
Departure from Gokarna
Breakfast and check-out. Free time for the local market or one more hour on the sand, depending on your departure. Transfer for your onward journey.

Good to know
Is the beach trail walkable for everyone?
The Kudle–Om–Half Moon trail is a rocky cliff path with some scrambling. Most reasonably fit travellers manage it easily in trainers; if you'd rather not, the vehicle drops you at each beach instead.
Is Gokarna safe for solo women travellers?
Yes, and a large share of our group is solo. Stick to the main beaches after dark, and your trip coordinator is reachable at any hour.
Can we swim at these beaches?
Yes at Kudle and Om in season, with care — there are no lifeguards and currents pick up in the monsoon months. We avoid the water entirely between June and August.
What is the dress code at the temple?
Mahabaleshwar Temple expects modest dress; men are traditionally required to remove shirts to enter the inner sanctum. Cover shoulders and knees, and leave leather items outside.
How do we reach Gokarna?
Gokarna Road railway station is 10 km from town, Goa's Dabolim airport about 3.5 hrs and Mangalore about 4 hrs. Pickup from your chosen point is included.
