Good to know
When can we raft in Rishikesh?
Rafting runs roughly late September to June and is suspended during the monsoon. Bungee and the giant swing operate year round subject to weather, with age and weight limits.
Is Kanatal worth the extra night?
It is the quietest part of the circuit — pine forest, a bonfire and a genuinely dark sky, with Surkanda Devi and Tehri Lake within an hour. Travellers consistently rate it the highlight over Mussoorie.
Will we get snow?
Mussoorie, Dhanaulti and Kanatal see snowfall in late December through February in most years, though it's never guaranteed. Surkanda Devi is the most reliable spot for it.
Is alcohol allowed in Rishikesh?
No. Rishikesh and Haridwar are dry, vegetarian towns, and that includes the hotels and cafés.
How far is the drive from Delhi?
Dehradun is about 6 hours by road or a 50-minute flight, and there are overnight trains from Delhi. Packages start with pick-up at Dehradun.
