The trip
Why this trip works
Start among Ubud's rice terraces and temples, with visits to Tirta Empul, Tegallalang and the Sacred Monkey Forest. A swing experience and coffee-estate stop lead you south to Padang Padang Beach and Uluwatu's coastal views. You spend four nights between Ubud and South Bali, travelling by private vehicle, with traffic sometimes slowing the journey. You can add ATV riding, a Kecak performance or a Jimbaran dinner, and pay separately for personal purchases.

When is the best time to visit?
Choose April to October for generally drier weather, with July and August the busiest months. November to March brings more rain, while Nyepi means an island-wide shutdown, including the airport.
What currency should I carry?
Carry Indonesian rupiah for small shops, and use cards at many hotels and restaurants. Choose authorised exchange counters and check your bank's charges before making payments.
Are adventure activities included?
